Merry Christmas to all.
I just finished this combo pack. I built the knife with the help of my good friend Roger Shirley. Thanks Roger. Bought and old hatchet with hammer on the end and grove to pull nails, reground the blade and made a new handle. Made the handle and all the pins for this project. The leatherwork took me some time to figure out what I really wanted. I needed a finishing steel and I used a gerber my wife bought me before we were married. Well now it is finished.and under the tree . When I was 10 years old, for Christmas, I only asked for one thing . I wanted a knife and hatchet combo. I got it and used it for many years. I am now 55, sitting here as I write, wishing my lower back didn’t hurt. I through it out a couple of days ago. Wish I had that 10 year old body again. Enjoy the pics, and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Tim

This is my first attempt to do a combo sheath for a knife and hatchet. Roger Shirley of RDS custom knives out did himself on this custom combo. The wood on the handles are Black Cherry Burl. The material in the blades are 440c stainless hardened to a 56-58 RC. I wanted to keep the combo tight so when it is on your side it doesn’t stick out or flap around. Hope you enjoy.
