RDS Custom Mini Knife
February 12th, 2009
This one is too good not to share!! I got a email the other day from Roger from RDS Custom Knives with two of the photos of his latest knife.
This knife is a miniature drop point, only 4 inches OAL and the cutting edge is 1 1/2 “. The bolsters are macassar ebony, the scales are mammoth tooth (fossilized teeth from a wooly mammoth, 10,000+years old). The blade material is zebra pattern damascus, 125+ layers of 1095 high carbon stainless, 15n20 (1075 carbon steel with 2% nickle) hardened to 56-58 Rc. The scales are heald to the blade with 2 part epoxy and (2) 1/8″ dia. mosaic pins. There is also decorative filling on the spline down through the butt. This is a real knife in all respects, it will cut. Well here it is and the sheath I made for it. What a mini you just got to see this thing to appreciate Rogers work. Thanks for asking me to do the sheath what an honor. (You can contact Roger of RDS Custom Knifes at (740-374-3315) Or search RDS Custom Knifes on ebay
